About
I am a teacher and ‘jobbing philosopher’ whose academic and professional interests focus on two main areas – applied ethics (especially the ethics of care) and academic literacy and style. Both my research and my teaching are underpinned by my belief in the importance of storytelling. I began my academic career with thirteen years as a teacher educator, following many years as a practitioner in mental health, learning disability and therapeutic education. Before coming to Leeds Metropolitan University I was Professor of Professional Development in Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Glamorgan, and Professor of Education at Liverpool Hope.
